A land of wonder
When you were a child, a child that dreamed, the one who
slept wide awake and never thought of anything bad or negative. How did you
feel?
Don’t really remember, right!
Have you ever thought of that energy, that laughter, that
spontaneity or the urge to ask a thousand questions at once ever again?
Not really. And how do you defend yourself for it?
Let me guess! You are too old to do that, or too busy,
tired, overburdened, overcautious, too sick or the lamest one perhaps that you
are too mature to do all that.
And all the time when someone asks you how are you? and you
respond back saying, I am fine.
But, deep down you are asking for help because something is
always missing. You never feel complete or fulfilled. Except a few times when the day was really
awesome or someone you love took out some time to talk to you.
But, is feeling special and wonderful just for a few days
every month okay for you?
Is it good enough for you to proceed like this for the rest
of your existence?
Let me share a secret here, why do you think you were
happier and content in the younger days?
It’s because you did not depend on others for it. If you
felt like running you ran, if you had to play you went for it, if you had to
read you asked your parents to buy a book for you and kept on asking till it
was fulfilled and did not let it go.
But now, all you do is let it go.
You keep moving in circles because you don’t want to be
counted as socially unfit or someone who is different from others.
Then one day when you are too annoyed with life you say to
yourself that tomorrow when I get up everything will be different, I will not
be like what I am right now and will live the life to the fullest.
And we all know what happens the next morning. We never do
what we had promised ourselves the last night.
Let me tell you another secret.
No one cares but, you.
Stop caring so much about you being a grownup or that what
will people say. Try and make a small wonderland for yourself and experience the
mesmerizing effect it has on you because, if you are not happy you can’t make
anyone else happy.
There is a saying that, you can’t pour from an empty cup and
it perfectly fits in each of our lives. Dare to dream, dare to live. Don’t give
up on who you are and on the possibility of who you can be.
