The need to impress
Our friends, parents, teachers, colleagues, seniors, virtual friends and every other person we meet, there is always a need to impress them. To make them feel fond of us. We try and try, each day to do something that interests others, that will make them feel good about us. What we forget is, that it’s not others that need to be impressed. It is your own self. How can you make others feel good or impressed about you when you yourself are struggling to feel happy or at peace? In this technologically driven world, we are always looking for others to validate us. Stamp us liked on social media, follow us and so on. Remember that evening in the office when you had finished all your work and wanted to head home but, instead went out with your boss for drinks.
